A Physician-Only Practice

Alypos was intentionally designed outside the conventional high-volume medical model. Every patient is personally evaluated, treated, and followed by Dr. Bernhardt.

Procedures and clinical decision-making remain directly physician-provided and individualized.

Unconventional Path and Formative Experiences

Before medicine, Dr. Bernhardt’s path was unconventional. As a young adult, he competed as a rodeo bucking horse rider—an experience that exposed him early to significant physical injury and recovery. This shaped his profound respect for pain, function, and the long-term consequences of musculoskeletal issues.

As a young man, Dr. Bernhardt spent time with respected Indigenous elders, including members of the Sioux and Karuk communities. These experiences reinforced principles of observation, restraint, and respect for long-term recovery that continue to influence his approach to patient care.

Training and Clinical Insights

After earning his GED, Dr. Bernhardt progressed through community college and scholarship to the University of Southern California, followed by his medical degree. He completed postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesiology, and advanced interventional pain management. He is board certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, and Interventional Pain.

His clinical experience during the opioid era reinforced the limitations of symptom-focused care and contributed to his emphasis on diagnosis, function, and long-term outcomes.

Clinical Philosophy

Dr. Bernhardt’s approach emphasizes evidence-informed, selectively applied interventions focused on tissue health, function, and long-term outcomes rather than temporary symptom suppression.

Alypos evaluates complex musculoskeletal and pain conditions through detailed clinical assessment, imaging, and physician-guided procedural care tailored to the individual patient.

This philosophy drives a practice rooted in discipline, direct accountability, precision diagnostics and interventions— prioritizing lasting results over volume or expediency.

Clinical Leadership and Contributions

Dr. Bernhardt has trained under nationally recognized leaders in pain and interventional medicine. He contributes to the field through peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, physician education, and leadership roles in interventional pain practices.

With over a decade in expert consultation and high-volume procedural experience—including advanced ultrasound and flouroscopic-guided interventions—he brings authoritative clinical insight to complex musculoskeletal and pain related conditions.
